More about Kayla...
Kayla, another employee who has been with us for several years, and an amazing part of the K9TS Team! Kayla started out in the kennel, moving over to Daycare, helping in the office and eventually becoming the manager for the ICP Department.
Kayla's role as ICP Manager plays such an important part of our business, affecting all departments. Kayla has worked with dogs in group settings 5 days a week for the past several years... Anyone who understands what this means will appreciate how much you learn from this. Kayla has become amazing at reading dogs and pairing them in the right play groups.
Being responsible for this department is a grossly under appreciated position in our industry which is odd because it is probably one of the toughest and hardest positions. Working with dogs one on one can be challenging, but imagine working with large groups of dogs, each having different personalities, play styles, quirks and it changes every single day depending on who comes in for daycare or boarding and you're responsible for keeping them all safe. Watching for injuries, illnesses and preventing any problems well before they happen.
Kayla has managed to run one of the safest daycares in the Chicagoland area... that means sometimes turning away dogs and/or clients which isn't easy... although we now offer alternative programs for dogs who may not fit into our daycare program.
Kayla attends many seminars and workshops a long side trainers helping expand her knowledge in handling and understanding dogs. She has also completed Pet Tech First Aid and Rescue Breathing among many other outside training opportunities.
We are lucky to have such a dedicated employee always helping whenever she can in any department and doing an amazing job watching over her clients.
