More about Maxwell...
Maxwell began his professional life at a young age, as an apprentice to his father, fixing computers, but decided against committing his life to these challenges, and instead, attended the Cortiva Institute’s Massage therapy program in Chicago. Fascinated by how the body worked, and by his ability to assist the body into a position where it could better heal and maintain itself, after receiving his massage license he began his practice at Holistic Happenings in Tinley Park.
Maxwell then expanded massage for humans to our canine friends and became a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. Maxwell attended hands-on canine massage programs from Canine Bodyworks, which allowed him to take his skills and enthusiasm for healing bodywork, and bring it to the beings that he loves the most, dogs! This coupled with his spiritual and energy practices, and his training experience allows him to work on the whole dog, mind, body and spirit!
Maxwell grew up having a close relationship with dogs for all of his life, seeking them out at pretty much every opportunity that was presented. He started Volunteered at P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park in October 2015, and learned a great deal about handling and caring for dogs in a kennel environment, as well as about the problems that dogs face when they are either terrified or aggressive, or aggressive because they are terrified.
Maxwell began working at K9 Tailshakers as a K9 care specialist, eventually expressing interest in Training… beginning as an A La Carte Trainer, learning the ICP program and gradually earning his place on our Training Team working in the new Day Training Program. Maxwell then continued to show great interest in training and worked closely with our Board and Train Program. Maxwell now handles his own Board and Trains and Day Training Clients.
We are thrilled to have such a dedicated person towards bettering the life of clients and their dogs in all areas from the body and the mind!
