Growing up Jan worked at her family business in the HVAC Industry.  Eventually Jan ventured out onto her own into the Advertising world working at companies such as McConnaughy Stein Schmidt Brown, DDB Needham, Chicago and Jovon Broadcasting as a Broadcast Business Coordinator and Traffic Manager.

 

Jan, a life long lover of dogs, realized after boarding her own dogs when on business and vacations knew exactly what was missing as a client.  She began researching and exploring the world of boarding, training and daycare.  Jan has researched and attended many seminars such as handling shy/fearful dogs, infectious diseases in the kennel, handling aggressive dogs, vaccination protocol, safe animal handling, sanitation and disinfecting and much more!  She believes this industry is always evolving and truly enjoys and believes you can always continue to learn from others in the industry by communicating, sharing ideas and attending educational seminars and webinars.

Jan has built a multi award winning facility and team receiving various awards for Best Boarding, Training, Grooming, Retail & Pet Services sometimes winning multiple awards in a year including winning an IBBY from the IBPSA (International Boarding and Pet Services Association) as well as being a finalist for Pet Industry Women of the Year.

 

Jan works along side with carefully chosen team members and notes “you can have all the book work and credentials in the world about animal behavior, although it takes a special person to truly have the ability to read, feel and understand each individual dog, not everyone has that natural ability and life long passion and commitment.”

On a personal note, Jan has helped and worked with many rescues including American Belgian Malinois Rescue, Dutch Shepherd Rescue, PAWS and National Animal Welfare Society.  Jan a lover of Belgian Malinois and German Shepherds, has owned and fostered several over the years.   Currently Jan is down to one 14 year old Belgian Malinois "Lucia" and a 5 year old Pitty/Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur Heinze 57 Mix!  You can see through Jan's photos she is a lover of getting out and being activewith her dogs! 

Jan’s personal hobbies...yes believe it or not outside of work involves.....dogs! She loves to train and spend time with her personal dogs as well as hiking, traveling and spending time with her family.  Jan always includes her son as he shares her passion, love of dogs, the outdoors and life.
